once enabled, autorendering mode can't be disabled in the current session

Description

The autorendering mode can't be disabled for the current session, once enabled. Is that as expected and I really have to restart wxGUI for this change to work?

Do you mean in GUI preferences? Anyway enabling/disabling auto-rendering mode for each opened map display works for me...

I mean in preferences. Ahh, there is this checkbox in GUI too. Two options for the same thing. Hmm.

No, "auto-rendering" option in GUI preferences serves as default value for each newly open map display. Checkbox in the map display statusbar enables/disables auto-rendering only in the current map display.
