Improve administration page layout

We have more and more stuff in the administration pages. Here is a suggestion for:

• better classification of all options
• add icon to focus on main configuration option

Very nice improvement. Some comments only:

• I would add samples option in Metadata&templates section instead of using a custom section.

• Another nice improvement for "Add templates" and "Add samples" would be to open an ExtJS window to allow to select the templates/metadata to add instead of having the list in the admin page.

It looks indeed much nicer than it does now.

Would it be an idea to dispaly only the big icons of the sections on top (along with section title or so), and when clicked, display the contents list below ?

A bit along the lines of the Thinkvantage Toolbox, see screenshot. I also like the way the report any "problems" per section, like that -- we could do something similar ..

I don't want to rewrite the full admin section because I think that could be made in the context of the GUI Widget sandbox which a much nicer/dynamic layout. The idea here is only to improve the layout without so much work.

Nice improvements indeed! I agree with Jose that some items may need to be ordered a bit differently.

• Sample metadata and template loading seem to fit well together.
• CSW tests and other CSW related stuff together
• Localization & i18N
• System information, Logo management, Search statistics can be grouped under System settings or so.
