Description
Hi, Just banged my head on a wall for a good few hours as I could not get gdal_translate to clip out a small region from a VRT file. It would simply show the srcwin calculated from my projwin, and exit. It turned out that I did not have write permissions to the directory I was running from. This wasted a lot of time for me, and a bit of bandwidth on gdal-dev list. Please consider implementing meaningful exit codes/messages.
