Description

This utility program is very useful to change georeferencing of a raster without having to decompress and recompress it. It is a lot faster and the quality is not changed.

I think it would deserve to be an official GDAL 1.10 command, not just a Python sample.

If you are interested in having it the "supported" scripts, I'd suggest you could contribute the man page in apps/gdal_utilities.dox. It would be good to have a autotest/pyscripts/test_gdaledit.py regression test too (to avoid things like gdal2tiles being broken without anyone noticing).
