Hi guys: Just wanted to log an idea for creating a GDAL driver for Google Maps (or other tiling servers). Kinda like server-side OpenLayers/Ka-Map, but it makes sense to be able to support resampling and projection. (cascading tiling)

I was thinking of the reverse- turning a bunch of tiles into an image that could be used in a non-tiled environment.

Implemented with GDAL WMS driver http://www.gdal.org/frmt_wms.html, isn't? -> Close.
