Legend tooltips missing on loaded projects

Description
The canvas legend has a tooltip feature that shows the file path when the mouse hovers over a layer. This used to work on OS X, but appears to now be non-functional. If others can confirm this, that would be good. I am using qt-4.5.3.

It appears this is not an OS X specific issue. Instead, if you load a project file, the tooltip functionality is lost. New projects with loaded layers show tooltips.
