Description

[from  http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/qgis-user/2008-October/003515.html]

Hi, When loading raster layers from the file system in QGIS I can set a number of very useful raster display options, such as transparency, band re-ordering and remapping of raster values or cell ranges. This is all very useful.

I wonder if there are any plans to add at least some of these options also to WMS layers. At least a global transparency option or setting certain rgb to values to transparent would be very useful, esp. if one wants to combine various WMS layers from external resources.

Thank you for any information on the issue, Andreas

I meant to file a similar ticket as we had a request for WMS transparency on the qgis booth on INTERGEO.

We will have to see if this is acceptable, if not it can be disabled easily enough. It seems that if you apply the transparency (setAlphChannel) multiple times on the same QImage, the alpha values are added rather than set, at least on Ubuntu 8.10 (Qt 4.4.3) need to test on some other platforms. May consider opening this issue as another ticket.
