Description
The switch could be used to determine target install version for installs and upgrades. The current target version for non-extension run is whatever is found in the staged install, and same for upgrade.
For extension the target is the last-installed version and the upgrade is with "next" appended.

With r12286 in trunk we have an —upgrade-path switch to run_test.pl for use with extensions.
