The current version is missing some useful stuff like stateplanes in feet and so on that are common.

It would be nice also to add all the ESRI coordinate systems (http://spatialreference.org/ref/esri/). Maybe guys from this website could provide the list. I could find it once on the ESRI web site but can't anymore… I attach the PDF files I have just in case.

Pierre, Just want to say I'm against cluttering our coordinate systems file with ESRI ones. In many cases they are similar to the EPSG ones and would just clutter our list and cause confusion. Case in point http://spatialreference.org/ref/esri/102687/ (we don't use these — even here in Mass we stopped using these like 8 years ago in favor of the EPSG ones that mean the same thing).
I however wouldn't mind if we created a separate file — e.g. esri_spatialreference.sql or something like that.

We should coordinate on this for libgeotiff, proj.4, and GDAL.
