Geonetwork desktop shortcut not working

Description
The application starts ok with the "start geonetwork" shortcut but the shortcut "Geonetwork" is not pointing to the start page

fixed in rev 5850
Applications should install *.desktop icon files to /usr/share/applications/, then make a copy from there into /home/user/Desktop/ and leave them there. Do not put them in the final category folder, as that gets done by the menu building script. see instructions on the wiki.
script corrected in r5853.
I'll try to dig into the build log for clues later in the weekend, but it might be academic until the next beta comes out.
