Oh wait, I might have confused different broken issues. Does the uDig Start menu icon even install? Or does the menu item install but not work (e.g., duplicate of #49)? If the Start menu icon doesn't install, what OS?

OS: Windows XP. The menu item is not installed. The programme starts because there is a shortcut on the desktop.

Here is what I observe with a fresh OSGeo4W install on Windows XP, using the advanced install method.
- In the OSGeo4W Start menu group:
- An empty "uDig" Start menu group is added
- A "uDig" Start menu shortcut is added, but doesn't work (described in #49)
- The shortcut added to the Desktop works normally
I've added a screenshot.
