Description

OSGeo-fr (Francophone local chapter) created a website to share information about the legal association of the Francophone OSGeo Community.

We need a Drupal instance in order to be hosted by OSGeo, a drupal template wil be used (display at  http://osgeo.gloobe.org/drupal/).

Thanks,

Before we create the instance I want to make sure we know what "Machine" we'd be putting this on under the new infrastructure. Or we're you thinking it would just play nice on the same instance as the main website since it's just another Drupal site? Projects or Webextra are 2 alternate locations.

Hello,

If it can help, this is the same purpose than OSGeo-uk website : http://www.osgeo.org/uk

but we have our own template.

Regards,

Y.

Hello,

Do I need to give more information to help you? Is it possible to get this instance?

Don't hesitate to say "no we can't" ;)

Thanks,

Y.

Ahem.. Sorry I have somehow missed this :(

Yes it is possible, and yes it will be on the same server as the main Drupal site. What else do you need? Anything special you will need? The current site is running on an old Drupal 5, which will be upgraded next month. Just so that you know ;)

Hello,

Thanks for your reply :)

I created the template on a drupal 6 release maybe this is a problem. Anyway here is what I need:

  • I want to use my own template for all the instance
  • I want allow some user to edit page in OSGeo-fr instance (if possible to do it myself to avoid ask to somebody, if not possible I will try to group my requests)

If you plan to upgrade to drupal 6 next month I can wait for it. Specialy if drupal template changed.

Thanks,

Y.

Okay, that is no problem. Each virtual site has its own template and module directory where it can have site specific stuff.

- I want allow some user to edit page in OSGeo-fr instance (if possible to do it myself to avoid ask to somebody, if not possible I will try to group my requests)

That is more or less preferred ;) I will make you a site admin account, so you can do anything you need and want. :)

I think there are differences, and a high risk that a drupal 6 template won't work with drupal 5. What engine did you use? Or did you modify an existing template?

Hi,

I used drupal 6.15 but I don't remember which template I used to create the OSGeo-fr template. One of the following:

  • pushbutton
  • garland
  • engines
  • chameleon
  • bluemarine

I will be busy newt weeks (SOTM and a new project) so I can wait for one month!

Thanks,

Y.
