Redirect to gvSIG website

Reported by: jsanz Assigned to: warmerdam
Priority: normal Component: SAC
Keywords: gvsig dns Cc:

Description

Hi,

The incubation status request (or recommends) to have an projectname.osgeo.org subdomain to have the website or to redirect to the project page.

I ask the SAC to set a http://gvsig.osgeo.org redirect to http://www.gvsig.gva.es witch is the main website of the project

Jorge Sanz

Jorge,

Did you just want us to point that DNS entry at the same IP as www.gvsig.gva.es or to actually point that domain at our servers and offer a redirect of some sort there?

Normally we have just implemented a DNS entry but then you need to respond to the gvsig.osgeo.org domain on your sever as well as your normal one. I can do the DNS entry very easily, but if you need an actual redirect I can also dig into accomplishing that.

Hi Frank,

I've to ask our sysadmins, as well as I have an answer I'll post here. I think pointing to www.gvsig.gva.es could be enough but I have to request from gvSIG people more info.

Thank you!

Hi,

I want to rescue that and I think a simple redirect could be fine.

So a redirect from http://gvsig.osgeo.org to http://www.gvsig.gva.es is enough.

Thanks

Sorry pointing to http://www.gvsig.gva.es/index.php?id=gvsig&L=2 would be better (front page in English), as default language for gvSIG webpage is Valencian (regional government policy, no comments).

  • keywords changed from gvsig dns to gvsig dns.
  • status changed from new to closed.
  • resolution set to fixed.

I have updated /etc/httpd/conf.d/rewrite.conf to do the requested redirect. Let me know if there are any problems with it.
