LABELSIZEITEM to allow aritmetical expressions

I found it will be very useful if i could use something like: 
 
LABELSIZEITEM [MOD] * 4 
 
or 
 
LABELSIZEITEM [MOD] + 10 
 
in order to draw labels (arrows in my map) from attributes not in pixels.

It's gonna be awhile on something like this. My approach would be to allow for
general expression handling for most if not all parameters rather than piece
meal. Will leave as a reminder...

I would like to use

RANGEITEM "90 - [pixel]"

Are there plans to allow expressions handling in all *ITEM labels?

RFC 19 paves the way for this but the initial implementation will not allow for 
expressions. I can't see anything being done with this (without funding) before 
5.0, it's just not hight enough on anyone's priority list.
