Description
In http://geographika.co.uk/mapserver-openlayers-and-the-wfs-maze, it is stated that for WFS 1.1, Mapserver does not use it's normal rules to determine the projection of layers. I have checked with 6.0 and trunk, and this is still a problem.
Normally, when a PROJECTION object is not defined for a LAYER, Mapserver assumes that the projection of the LAYER is the same as the projection of the MAP.
According to the web page referenced above, this is not the case when mapserver is providing WFS 1.1 services (for WFS 1.1, several SRSs can be supported by a WFS service): If a PROJECTION object is not defined for a LAYER, the bounding box that will be used for spatial filtering will not be transformed to the layer's (the map's) SRS.
For users, a workaround is to include PROJECTION objects for all the layers of a WFS service.
