I've been playing with using pixamp brushes for mapserver line layers.  There is
great potential here, but it can't really be realized until we rotate the brush
image to stay at right angles with the line we are styling.  Such a feature would
let users paint the classic railroad ties, or use a multi-lane highway brush 
instead of multiple vector styles.

Sean: We'll be adding general symbol rotation soon- before 4.8 beta so this may
follow soon after.

Re-opening. This is still attainable and I'm working on the image rotation with 
some folks in Germany now.
