There's no explanation about what a cartoline symbol is, the latest CVS docs about only report about how to configure them.

added the following to the mapfile-reference doc, in the SYMBOL TYPE section: cartoline: allows for different designs of line ends (mitered, rounded, beveled). More information can be found in the Cartographic Symbols doc (http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/doc/cartographic-symbols.html).
