Cutting two lines does not work as expected when

Steps to Reproduce:

• Open digitize Module
• draw a line :

First Point in lower left corner of mapframe Second Point in uppper right corner of mapframe Third Point in lower right corner of mapframe Fourth Point in upper left corner of mapframe, finish the line here

• observe how the line intersects itself

• draw the second line so that it intersects the first line at exactly one point

• click the "cut" Button

Expected Result: The first line should be cut in two, and the two geometries should be available in the list Actual Result: There line is cut in 4 pieces. At the point that I wanted it to, and and the point where the first line intersects itself
