I tried to test the site you posted above in my IE7 but it doesn't load at all...three installations, three results. Wow. BTW, I am working with IE 7.0.5730.11IC
Is there a way to show JavaScript errors in IE7?

ok, so JavaScript is deactivated by default. I activated it and I can now load the GUI without any problems. There seems to be no problem with the images of the treefolder.
What now?

I was able to reproduce this error. It occurs when all layers of a WMS are off on startup. I will add an if clause to prevent this behaviour
