Distance analysis

Hi,

I have to make distance analysis in Grass software. Can anyone provide me help in this regard how to use these command.; if possible, can anyone contact me and give me a demo on how to execute the task.

My main objective of using Grass GIS is to determine the minimum distance between one layer coordinates with other layer coordinates. I only have to display minimum/closest links in the form of line between two layers. Also,when grass displays the line, where does it store the information of distance between the coordinates that are represented

by the line.

Your question lacks some details about types of data, but I would think that v.distance is your best bet.
