"Cancel" still saves changes

Description
I have a metadata template I'm editing. I go into the "By Package", say "Indentification", and fiddle around, adding a few items, removing a few others. I then decide I don't like the changes so I press "cancel". Up pops a javascript alert asking if I'm sure I want to leave the editor telling me "you will lose any unsaved changes". I click "Ok", but when next I look at this template, I see that my changes were indeed saved, despite definitely not clicking "save" at all.

This error exists in GeoNetwork 2.6.4 as well. I could only realize this bug once after tomcat start. After that it seems as if the the cancel-button works fine.
