-The alpha development releases of PostgreSQL 9.0 has been tested but not extensively against PostGIS 1.5 (well was tested when it was called 8.5), fixes have already been incorporated to make it compile against PostGIS 1.5.  These fixes have not been and probably will not be back-ported to pre-PostGIS 1.5 releases.

+As a general rule, the PostGIS Project Steering committee  tries to maintain support of PostGIS for at least
