In order to reprocude the issue try: 1. Boot the upstream lubuntu-18.04-desktop-amd64.iso and try to set the network to a static IP. The /etc/resolv.conf file is properly setup to point to the DNS servers you have provided. 2. Boot the osgeo-live-nightly-build34-amd64-3d4bc66.iso and try to set the network to static IP. The /etc/resolv.conf file is a symlink to /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf but that file does not exist. Instead the file /run/systemd/resolve/resolv.conf exists and if you symlink to that path everything works fine.
