Hi,

I'll have a look after the next alpha ISO. Note that it can be both in the Other menu and in the right place in the Geospatial menu.

Menu position is determined by the contents of the Categories= line in the *.desktop file, different desktop environments sort by different keywords. For geo-app icons on the desktop they get rewritten with an extra Geospatial category in them, have a look at /usr/local/share/applications/osgeo-*.desktop on a built disc.

hopefully fixed in r10289.

I also noted some issues in the script with '###', most serious is to decide if automatic pw entry for sudo is desired when installed as a VM (on the VM sudo asks you for a pw, on the iso it doesn't AFAIU). the trouble (if you call it that) is that often the VM creator will make another user account &/or change the paswd, then the automatic pw passing to sudo becomes out of date and fails. note from the icon if it asks you for the sudo pw there is no tty to enter it, so it fails anyway.
