== Installing ECW SDK ==

The GDAL ECW Plugin requires the ECW 3.3 Runtime libraries which the end user is required to download and install directly from the Erdas Web Site directly.  See the [wiki:pkg-gdal-ecw] for details on how to manually install the ECW SDK.  The underlying SDK only needs to be installed once for both the gdal-ecw and gda16-ecw plugins.
