Hi,
Just a thought: It would also be a good idea if a WMS html getfeatureinfo call could use the mapfile "WEB EMPTY" tag when no selection is made.

I'ld rather consider this a bug and not a feature request because the client has no way of telling whether a query returned a result or not.
Would it be possible to fix this in the next point release (5.0.1)?

This cannot go into 5.0.1. Pushing to 5.2 at least, in the hope that someone has time for it.

Can someone please test the attached patch and report whether it works. If it does then I'll commit the fix to SVN trunk.

I have tested my untested patch and it didn't work so I deleted it from this ticket.
I have tested the fix and committed to SVN trunk in r7437.
