     3mg-desktop is a desktop implementation of the MapGuide Platform API, it contains:

     5 1. A desktop-based implementation of the MapGuide API without requiring any dependencies on the MapGuide Server or Web Tier, including all the necessary components and services for building desktop-based geospatial applications such as feature data access and map rendering/stylization
     6 2. A WinForms-based map viewer component that can be embedded in your own .net applications.
