Displaying cell value layer with explore mode is not usefull. r36078 adds offer to switch to constrained mode when displaying cell value layer.
Please test. A candidate for merging with releasebranch.

This works great. Tested in develbranch_6 with Mac OSX Intel and TclTk aqua 8.5.

I tried again, in grass-6.4.0-RC3, as well as grass-6.4.0svn-07_03_2009 (from generic file using installer), on a tiny, 8x10 cell region. In both cases I get the following error message pop-up "Cell values can only be displayed for regions of <10,000 cells ... OK".
However, add cell values layer still works fine in grass-6.2.3 and grass-6.3.0 using the same raster file and region size.
I am running Fedora-10, kernel 2.6.27.12-170.2.5.fc10.i686, with latest security and bug updates applied, and tcl-8.5.3-1.fc10 and tk-8.5.3-5.fc10.

This issue was fixed before 6.4.0 release with r36327
Oops sorry ... Fedora 10 installed 27 January 2009, updates current to 20 February 2009.
