#1373 new defect
Wrong stereographic grid tracing and labeling in stereographic projection
Reported by: | alf | Owned by: | |
---|---|---|---|
Priority: | normal | Milestone: | 6.5.0 |
Component: | Display | Version: | svn-develbranch6 |
Keywords: | d.grid | Cc: | |
CPU: | Unspecified | Platform: | All |
Description
When using stereographic projection set, for example, at the south pole, d.grid's geographical output is messy: grids are not completely traced and the labels accumulates at the corners at various angles.
Find attached a screenshot of the output for a 1000x1000 km area centered at the south pole, and a sample location (to reproduce the screenshot, use: d.grid -g size=10).
Regards,
Alessandro Frigeri

known bug.
for the stereographic images on the raster screenshots page (1,2) the work-around I used was to use v.mkgrid in a lat/lon location which I then pulled into the stereographic projection with v.proj.

hopefully the label text is a little better now. grid lines around anomalies still need work.
