Description (last modified by )
Object Library is new feature introduced in CMake 2.8.8.
If we agree to support CMake 2.8.8 or later only, then it would be reasonable to make use of the Object Library feature.
The idea is explained here. Basically, the OBJECT library is a similar concept to the convenience library known from Autotools to group object files.
Personally, I don't see any problems with CMake 2.8.8 as minimum required version. So, if no objections appear, I will do the switch during next weeks.
