It downloads but is only 48kb and doesn't extract

It seems "make dist" for geos now resquires svn2cl to be in the path or it fails, but this was not true on Paul's account on upload.osgeo.org. I have modified /home/pramsey/scripts/geos-nightly.sh to add /home/pramsey/scripts/svn2cl to the PATH at the beginning and now things seem to work well.
I notice that geos-svn.tar.bz2 is 1.6MB compared to 1.2MB for geos-3.1.1.tar.gz2. Is this indicative of any sort of problem or is there just a lot more code and stuff in svn compared to 3.1?
