Description
The CARTO driver for ogr2ogr creates a geometry column named "the_geom". That is one of the columns a properly cartodbfy'd table should have, but sometimes it's better to put the original geometry in a different column and let CARTO create the "the_geom" column itself, thus preserving type and SRID.
The PostGIS driver defaults to "wkb_geometry", but has a GEOMETRY_NAME option allowing one to override the default. The same approach for the CARTO driver would be great.

I've tried this, but the cartodbfy'cation will remove the original column and reproject your custom column to EPSG:4326 with "the_geom" as geometry name.
