Docs for ST_Buffer() may be incorrect

Description
The documentation for ST_Buffer() states, 'Do not call with a GeometryCollection as an argument'. (http://postgis.refractions.net/docs/ch06.html#id2595344).
However, ST_Buffer() seems to be working fine on GeometryCollections in my code (PostGIS 1.1.6), and the response to my query to postgis-users suggests that this is a documentation error. (http://postgis.refractions.net/pipermail/postgis-users/2008-May/019834.html)
