== Version ==

 * Apache 2.x
 * you can also browse the exact versions available for OSGeo4W [http://download.osgeo.org/osgeo4w/release/apache/ here]
 * the source is available at [http://httpd.apache.org/ apache.org]

== Installation ==

 * This package is not automatically installed as a service - run the apache-install.bat script from the OSGeo4W commandline to do this.
   * changes in package version 2.2.14-2, as well as installer changes through ticket:133 (giving installer Administrator privileges) allows the installer to create and start the Apache service (tested on Windows7)
 * The apache-uninstall.bat and apache-restart.bat scripts are also available to uninstall the service, or restart the server.


== Port ==

 * Currently hardcoded to run on port 80.
 * If you wish to have Apache use a different port:
   * open ''/osgeo4w/apache/conf/httpd.conf'' in a text editor
   * search for "Listen 80" (around line 46)
   * change the "80" into another value (such as "8080")
   * restart the "Apache OSGeo4W web server" service 

     Note: if you are having problems with ports, you can use [http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897437.aspx TCPView] to get a list of active ports
