Foreign Language Support
OpenLayers does not, at this time, maintain separate mailing lists for different languages. The reason for this is that the community has not yet demonstrated a need for this. At this time, any emails should probably be sent directly to one of the existing lists. In order to help developers, if you do not speak English, please:
- Translate your text as well as you can.
- If you can not speak English at all, run the text through a translation service like Google Translate.
- If your translation skills are limited or you resorted to machine translation, please *include the original text*, and the language that it is in. This way, native speakers may be able to help you even if English speakers can not. There are a number of non-English speakers in languages ranging from Spanish to German available on the list.
If you feel you would benefit from a mailing list specific to your language, please add a section with the language you care about to this page. (You can login as "openlayers/openlayers".) If the section already exists, add your name to it. If it does not, create it, then add your name to it. If sufficient interest is demonstrated, it is possible that we will create mailing lists to help these communities. If you are proficient in English, but are interested in having a foreign language list anyway, please mention that in a comment next to your name.
Additionally, there are mailing lists hosted by OSGeo for several different languages. It is possible that the people who use these lists may be able to help you solve your problem, or point you to existing resources. However, note that these lists are not specific to OpenLayers, so if you can use the OpenLayers list, it is preferable, since the community here is the one most likely to be able to help you, even if your English skills are limited.
