Store permalink in address bar as anchor

It would be nice if permalink had an option to store it's parameters in the address bar, as an anchor.

This apparently have problems in older safari versions, and perhaps also in IE. Depending on how these problems manifest themselves there may be a need for code to check for unsupporting browsers and fall back to only showing the normal permalink.

I'm not sure I follow you bobkare. what do you mean by "as an anchor" in the address bar?

I would say he means something like  http://url/file.htm#permalink. In that case, this ticket is related to #72.

This is definitely an idea worth considering. I think, however, it is sufficiently polemic as to not be a candidate for 2.7

If someone vehemently wants this, speak up. Otherwise....

Mass ticket move out of 2.7 in preparation for a release plan.

If you are actively working on this task, and think that you can help this ticket to get finished and closed by September 1, please move it back to 2.7.
