Label leader lines interfere with the label text

Description
The current implementation of leader lines allows them to interfere with the label text associated with them.
One workaround to this is to put an outlinecolor on your label to minimize (hide) interference with the leader line.
tbonfort commented that it might be possible to trim the leader line.
