Description
Mapserver is (in the process of) introducing a style label opacity for gd output for Mapsever 5.0 release. This bug is to track the addition of stroke-opacity and fill-opacity support in Mapserver SLD for line and polygon symbolizers.

style opacity was added for the agg rendered recently and will be available for the 5.2 release. The sld extracts the value of stroke/fill-opacity and set the style's opacity parameter. Closing this bug.

Support of read/write was added r6363 using the style->opacity parameter.
The style->opacity support will likely make it in 5.2 and not 5.0 according to discussions with Steve Lime.
Keep this bug open unitil support in Mapserver and tests are done.
