Description
Gentlemen, here are some mapserver related bugs that I had written earlier and had better send to you fast, as I'm not working with mapserver at the moment. What version? Oh, the mapserver in FWTools-1.2.1/bin/mapserv that I see still in the tar on my disk... as you see I had better send you these bugs fast as my memory is fading... Sorry I cannot followup further.

$ ~/FWTools/bin_safe/mapserv -v MapServer version 4.99
Which I couldn't select in the menu here on the bug reporter system.
P.S, here's a mail between me an Warmerdam:
$ shp2img Say: Syntax: shp2img -m mapfile [-o image] [-e minx miny maxx maxy]
[-l "layer1[ layer2]..."] [-i format]
[Note I have changed all both lines] Else also no one will ever know how to add more than one layer and will try commas. Also -l NON_EXISTENT doesn't raise an error. Also besides just syntax, it should say Purpose: ... as there is no man page. Same for its sibling programs. Also add options to turn off layers.
I have updated the docs for -l. I never would have guessed it works as it does. There is some sort of documentation for the utilities on the MapServer plone site.
$ shp2pdf; echo #<--needed, as no newline after "Compiled without PDF support." $ legend demo.map Syntax: legend [mapfile] [output image]
- write error message to stderr
- needed to do:
$ legend demo.map /dev/stdout|xli /dev/stdin as [output image] turns out not to be optional. So say Syntax: legend mapfile output_image on stderr too. same I bet for scalebar.
These are not normally used, and I just don't care enough about them to deal with this. If you care enough, feel free to file a bug in the mapserver bugzilla and perhaps someone will deal with them.

I have updated the shp2img page on the Plone site (http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/docs/reference/utilityreference/shp2img/). I am not sure what your bug was, but hopefully this fixes it :)
