[Symbol] SIZE does not affect symbol STYLE for GIF symbols

This happened to me but only on debian linux (FGS mapserver)4.8.1 and 4.6.
Windows version 4.8.2 and 4.6 worked fine.
The problem was that the SIZE parameter for symbol "xpto.gif" would not resize
the image. 
(I was unable to test 4.8.2, I was unable to run debian FGS mapserver 4.8.2
cgi-bin/mapserv with my map, it does http timeout and no log., I will report
that to FGS)
