Overview
Most major projects/products have some sort of compilmentary project for community-based extensions to the main project/product.
Some random examples:
- WPF - WPF Contrib
- ASP.net MVC - MVC Contrib
- Apache Ant - Ant-Contrib
- NHibernate - NHibernate Contrib
Currently no such thing exists and the closest thing we have at the moment is the Code Samples. It would make sense for MapGuide to have a "community extensions" sub-project, where users can contribute useful scripts and tools for MapGuide with proper source control and project management.
