Preview of a connection to a set of tiled rasters causes an unclassified exception

1) Create a connection to a folder of tiled Tif files and create a connection.
2) Set the coordinate system override (as necessary).
3) Create a layer.
4) Add the layer to a map and verify extents are correct.
6) Save and preview the map using the AJAX Viewer
7) Attempt to zoom in using the + on the zoom slider and check the error logs for an unclassified exception. No image is rendered.
