    2121
    22 TBD
22The PSC election 2016 starts on this Sunday (24. 07. 2016) and ends on Monday the 29th of August 2016.
23The new committee will be formed by nine (9) members.
24This is in accordance with the current PSC chair and the original planning when constituting the PSC.
     25
     26
     271. The process
     28
29The election process is split essentially in two phases:  1) the Nomination
30and 2) the Voting.  Final actions are announcing the results and officially
31forming the new PSC, formed by nine (9) members.
     32
     33
     341.1 Nominations
     35
36During the Nomination phase, '''any''' member of the GRASS-GIS community,
37can nominate '''any''' community member for being a candidate for the PSC.
     38
39To set a nomination in motion, an e-mail should be directed to the CRO
40including '''name''', '''contact email''' and shortly '''why''' a person is recommended as
41a PSC member. The CRO will then contact the recommended person asking for
42confirmation.  The nominated person has to accept the candidacy for the PSC.
     43
44In short, a nomination and its acceptance '''are required to be sent directly to
45the CRO''', in private.  Following, it is the CRO's task to officially announce a
     46nomination.
     47
48'''Note''', current PSC members will be asked if they wish to stand as a
     49candidate for the upcoming election.
     50
     51
     521.2 Voting
     53
54The CRO will ensure to invite all community members.
     55
56During the Voting period, community members can vote their preferred
57candidate(s) via an on-line tool which will protect privacy.
     58
59Each voter can vote one time.  However, there is no limit as to how many, among
60the candidates, a voter can select.
     61
     62
     632. Time frame
     64
65If there is no objection, or other force majeure, I would like to
66accelerate the PSC election process, starting on Sunday the 24th of
     67July.
     68
69The absolute deadline for the whole process, including the announcement of the
70new committee, is the 29th of August.
     71
     72

     78
79You are kindly asked to refrain from canceling an already announced nomination
80or support and request for a new nomination.  Unless there are serious reasons
81to cancel a nomination, modification of the list of nominees will not be
82possible after the end of the 3rd week.
