Overview

Improved coordinate reference system (CRS) selection when editing metadata. Search for CRS based on name or code criteria and add one or more CRS at a time.

Proposal

Improved coordinate reference system (CRS) selection when editing metadata. This new search interface is much more modular and improve usability and speed up reference system selection process.

It allows editors to:

• do one or more searches in GeoTools Referencing database (See  http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTDOC/07+Referencing).
• select one or more CRS added to the selected items list (using arrows or drag & drop) on the right.
• add the selected CRS directly into metadata.

The search interface allows editors to choose the maximum number of CRS to returns, and the type of CRS to search for (default is all).

Once added, the code, codespace and version is added for each of the selected CRS.

Other enhancements for future release

• use CT_CrsCatalogue ( http://eden.ign.fr/xsd/isotc211/isofull/20090316/resources/crs/ML_gmxCrs.xml/view) instead of GeoTools? referencing DB.
