== Motivations ==
!GeoNetwork is currently unable to import CSW ebRIM metadata.  This format will be increasingly prominent
in the GEOSS environment in the future and a significant amount of useful metadata will become available
for harvesting for GEOSS.

== Proposal == 
We are aware of efforts underway for !GeoNetwork v3 to add support for
CSW ebRIM, but understand that it may be implemented primarily as a
server export option.  GEOSS is already harvesting some ebRIM sources
(most notably, the Component and Service Registry) via CSW and
anticipate more sources to come.  We propose to provide support for
harvesting and ingesting ebRIM into !GeoNetwork collections.

Also, as needed, we propose to test and add support for FGDC and CSW ISO
metadata.

None anticipated.

== Risks ==
None forseen.  Development will take place on a separate branch so that testing can take place before merging into the trunk.
