MetadataNotifierControl make tomcat hanging on shutdown

Description

ScheduledExecutorService is never shutdown and it looks like Tomcat can't make it stop.

Proposals: add a shutdown method to the MNC.

Workaround: set TOMCAT_PID var, and use the -f option.
