The changes affect orientation of data, handling of datum parameters, writing coordinate variables, handling of different NetCDF file formats, and are described specifically below. A common thread amongst the changes is to improve interoperability with the NetCDF Climate & Forecasting (CF-1) conventions, which are the widely utilised format for recording projection information in raster datasets.
