    66Work has been done so that these bindings are in shape for 1.7.0 release. For the 1.5.0 and 1.6.0 release, they are considered to be broken.

     8Due to the fact the Java garbage collector may work in a separate thread from the main thread, it is strongly advised to configure GDAL with multi-threading support, even if you do not use GDAL API from several Java threads.
