In the file gdal-1.2.6/frmts/ilwis/ilwisdataset.h I got a number of errors. I reversed the order of the definition of the classes ILWISRasterBand and ILWISDataSet, putting ILWISRasterBand first, and it then compiled successfully. (I don't actually know if it worked, since I have been unable to get grass to work, and anyway am not sure what this is supposed to do).
