    11Both files, NL.TIFF and NK.TIFF opens without problems in QGIS. The main issue is perhaps in the viewer you are using but I do not know to whom in Apple you should write and ask for their opinion.

    3 As first sight this does not feel like a bug in GDAL. Instead of creating bug reports right ahead I recommend to send mail to gdal-dev mailing list which is also serving as gdal users mailing list.

    55I would do a bunch of tests by converting NL.TIFF (if that is the one that makes the Apple viewer to fail) with gdal_translate to other kind of tiff files by playing with the parameters and see it viewer is happy with some variant.
